So, will things change?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past week, you’ve undoubtedly heard of the historic wins the Republicans had. It was the biggest win in nearly 70 years for the Republican Party. Now we have definitive proof that the majority of Americans were unhappy with the Democratic Party. What other conclusion can be drawn?
Now that they’ve taken control of the House of Representatives, the Republicans have promised to overturn the healthcare bill as their first priority. Soon to be House Majority leader John Boehner was quoted as saying: "I believe that the healthcare bill that was enacted by the current Congress will kill jobs in America, ruin the best healthcare system in the world, and bankrupt our country." He also added: "That means we have to do everything we can to try to repeal this bill and replace it with common sense reforms to bring down the cost of health care.”
While I can’t agree with him on every point, my belief is that this healthcare is a complete disaster. The government cannot spend money responsibly, never have and never will. Look no further than the United States Post Office, Medicare, Medicaid, or any other government run entity; all of which operate in the red. If they were privately owned companies, they’d be out of business.
Going back to what John Boehner said, the question remains, can they do it and will they do it? If they do, I’ll regain some faith in our politicians. If they are unsuccessful, or simply don’t do it, I’ll know that our politicians are in fact bought and paid hacks for the elitists.
My guess is that we’ll see no change in the direction our country is headed. Remember, we were all promised hope and change 2 years ago and we all know how that turned out.

If the Republicans follow the advice of Marco Rubio and Sean Hannity and some of the other conservative thinkers, then we might be able to be optimistic about some GOOD change in our country. We sure have to hope the politicians will learn their lesson. If not, 2 years from now, Obama will win re-election and we could wind up back in 2008 in Congress!
